Bihar CM Nitish Kumar Offers Help to Families After Lightning Tragedy
Patna (Bihar) [India], July 8: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar expressed his deep condolences for the death of 12 people due to lightning in seven districts of Bihar. He announced an ex-gratia of four lakh rupees for each affected family.
The Chief Minister said, “I am with the affected families in this hour of disaster.” He instructed that the ex-gratia grant be given to the families of the deceased.
Kumar urged people to exercise full caution during bad weather and follow the suggestions issued by the Disaster Management Department to stay safe from lightning. He emphasized staying indoors during bad weather.
On Monday, the Chief Minister conducted an aerial survey of the rising water levels of rivers in West Champaran, East Champaran, and Gopalganj districts. Earlier, he expressed his condolences on his official X handle, noting the deaths in various districts and reiterating the ex-gratia support.
