Bihar CM Nitish Kumar Distributes Jobs and Urges Quick Land Survey Before 2025 Elections

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar distributed appointment letters to 9,888 candidates selected for Special Survey Assistant Settlement Officer and related posts. He asked the officials in the Revenue and Land Reforms department to complete the land survey before the assembly elections in 2025.

Importance of Land Survey

Addressing the event, Nitish Kumar emphasized the need to complete the land survey before the elections. He stated, “I have said that these works (land surveys) must be done before the elections. If all these works are done before July 2025, it will be good.”

He further mentioned that 60% of crimes in Bihar are mainly due to land-related disputes. With the appointment of 9,888 more officials, the department must complete the special survey and settlement of lands across the state by July 2025.

Political Background

Nitish Kumar rejoined the NDA bloc in January this year after developing differences with the Mahagathbandhan alliance. This was his fifth political shift in the past ten years, preceding his ninth term as the Chief Minister. This led to the collapse of the Mahagathbandhan government and the formation of the NDA government in the state.
