Bihar CM Nitish Kumar Condoles Death of Labourers in Jammu and Kashmir Attack
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar expressed his condolences for the loss of three labourers from Bihar in a terror attack at Gagangir, Jammu and Kashmir. He announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh for each victim’s family and directed officials to provide additional benefits through the Labour and Social Welfare Departments. Arrangements are being made to bring the bodies back to Bihar.
The attack occurred at a tunnel construction site on the Srinagar-Leh highway in Ganderbal district, where terrorists targeted labourers and staff. Two labourers died instantly, while three others and a doctor succumbed to injuries later. Five individuals are currently receiving treatment.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah condemned the attack, promising a strong response from security forces. Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah also condemned the attack, expressing sadness and extending condolences to the victims’ families.
