Big Boulder Blocks Train Tracks in Mumbai, Services Restored
A large boulder fell onto the tracks between Asangaon and Adgaon on the Kalyan-Kasara section in Mumbai on Wednesday night, causing a disruption in local rail services. Authorities worked for several hours to clear the debris and restore train services.
Central Railway stated, “Restoration work has concluded and service has started between Asangaon and Adgaon, Kalyan-Kasara section, where a boulder fell.”
The incident affected the movement of trains on upline services towards Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus. The affected trains included:
- 22224 SAINAGAR SHIRDI-CSMT Vande Bharat Express
- 11072 BALLIA-LTT Kamayani Express
- 12108 SITAPUR-LTT Express
However, train movement on the downline remained unaffected.
