Bhupinder Singh Hooda Surprised by Haryana Election Results
In Rohtak, Haryana, former Chief Minister and Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda expressed surprise at the Haryana assembly results, as the BJP is set to form its third consecutive government. Hooda mentioned that Congress lost many seats by small margins and plans to meet the Election Commission due to complaints received.
The Congress party has rejected the results, calling them unexpected and against ground reality. Hooda also addressed the division within the INDIA bloc, stating that an alliance with the Aam Aadmi Party was not formed despite offering seats. He emphasized that Congress remains united, dismissing any internal divisions.
Hooda also refuted claims of caste-based politics, promoting Congress’s ideology of unity. The Congress is expected to win 37 seats, while BJP is poised to win 48 in the 90-member assembly.
Party leaders Jairam Ramesh and Pawan Khera announced plans to approach the Election Commission over serious complaints about the counting process. Ramesh criticized the results as a manipulation of democratic processes.
Despite exit poll predictions, BJP is celebrating its victory, with Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini thanking the people of Haryana and attributing the success to PM Modi’s leadership.
