In Rohtak, Haryana, former Chief Minister and Congress leader Bhupinder Hooda addressed rumors of infighting within the Congress party. He clarified that the decision on the Chief Minister, if Congress wins the assembly elections, will be made by the party’s high command. Hooda is contesting from the Garhi-Sampla-Kiloi constituency against candidates from BJP, AAP, JJP, and INLD. He, along with his son Deepender Hooda, cast their votes in Rohtak and visited polling booths across Haryana, encouraging people to vote peacefully. The state recorded a 61% voter turnout by 5 PM. The election results for Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir will be announced on October 8.
