In Raipur, Chhattisgarh, Congress leader and former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel expressed his disapproval of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) stance on the Constitution and recent claims of ‘urban naxalism’. Baghel emphasized the region’s historical role in social reform and its contribution to India’s Constitution, mentioning figures like Jyotirao Phule, Mahatma Gandhi, and Baba Saheb Ambedkar.

Baghel questioned BJP leaders’ claims of urban naxalism, suggesting their inaction implies complicity. He echoed Rahul Gandhi’s view that 90% of people should share in the nation’s development, not just a few.

In Maharashtra, Congress leader Vijay Wadettiwar criticized Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis for dismissing Rahul Gandhi’s “Samvidhan Sammelan” as theatrics, calling it an insult to social organizations. Wadettiwar urged an inquiry if these groups are labeled ‘urban naxals’.

Fadnavis accused Rahul Gandhi of lacking respect for the Constitution, calling his actions theatrics for votes. The Maharashtra Assembly elections are set for November 20, with results on November 23. The opposition MVA coalition aims to regain power against the Mahayuti alliance.
