Bhupender Yadav Highlights PM Modi’s ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ Campaign for Climate Action
New Delhi, June 28: Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Bhupender Yadav, emphasized the importance of sustainability in India’s development under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. Speaking at the Times Network India Climate Summit in Delhi, Yadav highlighted the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign launched by PM Modi on World Environment Day, June 5. The campaign encourages people to plant and nurture a tree in honor of Mother Earth.
Yadav mentioned that PM Modi planted a Peepal tree at Buddha Jayanti Park in Delhi to mark the campaign’s launch. He also referred to the 2015 Paris Agreement, an international treaty on climate change, and India’s efforts in renewable energy through the International Solar Alliance headquartered in Gurgaon.
Yadav urged everyone to plant at least one tree in their lifetime as a tribute to Mother Earth. He praised India’s increased forest cover and the role of local communities in sustainable development.
