BEUMER India Joins MET City in Haryana with Big Investment

Gurugram (Haryana), June 27: Model Economic Township Limited (METL), a part of Reliance Industries Limited, has welcomed its first German customer, BEUMER India, to MET City in Jhajjar, Haryana. This addition brings the total number of companies in MET City to over 570 from 10 countries, making it a top business destination in India.

BEUMER Group, a global leader in material handling solutions, plans to invest over 2 billion Rupees in a new facility that will create 750 jobs. The ground-breaking ceremony for this state-of-the-art plant marks a significant milestone for MET City, which aims to attract multinational companies with its sustainable infrastructure.

Senior representatives from BEUMER Group and MET City attended the ceremony, highlighting the strong ties between the two entities. This new facility will not only enhance BEUMER India’s global presence but also support local businesses and boost the economy.

MET City is one of India’s largest integrated greenfield Smart Cities, hosting companies from various sectors like defence, engineering, electronics, and more. It is also the only Japan Industrial Township in Haryana, accommodating six Japanese companies and several from South Korea and Europe.

BEUMER Group has been active in India since 2003, expanding from the cement industry to multiple sectors. The new facility in MET City will complement its existing unit in Naurangpur, Haryana, and is expected to be completed by 2025.

SV Goyal, CEO of MET City, expressed excitement about welcoming BEUMER India, emphasizing the strong Indo-German ties and MET City’s commitment to providing top-tier infrastructure. Rudolf Hausladen, CEO of BEUMER Group, and Nitin Vyas, Cluster Asia CEO of BEUMER Group, also highlighted the strategic importance of this expansion.
