The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) President Roger Binny and Secretary Jay Shah presented a special ‘NAMO 1’ jersey to Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence. The BCCI shared a photo of the event on social media, expressing gratitude for PM Modi’s support.

Earlier in the day, PM Modi interacted with the World Cup-winning Indian Cricket Team, including head coach Rahul Dravid. The team, which recently won the T20 World Cup by defeating South Africa, received a warm welcome from fans upon their arrival in New Delhi.

During their meeting with the Prime Minister, the team wore a special jersey featuring two stars over the BCCI emblem, representing their two T20 World Cup wins. India ended a 13-year ICC World Cup trophy drought with a seven-run victory in the final, thanks to key performances from Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya, and Jasprit Bumrah, who was named ‘Player of the Tournament’.

The team faced travel delays due to Hurricane Beryl but arrived in Delhi on July 2. They stayed at the ITC Maurya hotel before meeting with PM Modi. A special cake featuring the T20 World Cup trophy was cut at the hotel to celebrate the win, with stars like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Rahul Dravid, and Hardik Pandya participating in the celebration.
