BCCI Approves New Cricket Stadium and Academy in Bihar

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has given the green light to the Bihar Cricket Association (BCA) to start the reconstruction of Moin-ul-Haq Stadium. The goal is to create a state-of-the-art cricket stadium and a dedicated cricket academy in Bihar.

Gratitude from BCCI

BCCI Secretary Jay Shah expressed his gratitude to the Bihar government for their support. He assured that the new stadium would be dedicated to the development of cricket in the state.

Meeting and Approvals

A significant meeting was held by the BCCI in Mumbai, where the proposals by BCA President Rakesh Kumar Tiwari were approved. Tiwari expressed his heartfelt thanks to Jay Shah and the BCCI on behalf of the people of Bihar.

New Facilities

The post-renovation Moin-ul-Haq Stadium will feature a world-class stadium, a ground, a five-star residential complex, a clubhouse, and many other facilities. An extended branch of the National Cricket Academy (NCA) and an indoor stadium with modern amenities are also planned.

Construction Timeline

The BCA acquired the Moin-ul-Haq Stadium on a long-term lease in March 2024. Construction is expected to begin by September. The stadium, which has hosted nine international matches since 1969, will continue to serve as the home ground for the Bihar cricket team.

Future Plans

A separate committee is working on organizing the Bihar Cricket League. The BCA’s Committee of Management has made necessary decisions for the 2024-25 season and expressed satisfaction with the domestic tournaments conducted by the BCA.
