Basavaraj Bommai Praises PM Modi’s Economic Leadership in Lok Sabha Debate
New Delhi, August 6: Karnataka’s former chief minister and Gadag-Haveri MP, Basavaraj Bommai, praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership during a debate on the union budget in the Lok Sabha. Bommai highlighted the increase in GST collections and the reduction of middlemen through the digital economy, saving 3.8 lakh crores via direct money transfers.
Bommai also mentioned the increase in taxpayers from 3.6 crore in 2014 to 8.18 crore in 2023, with a notable rise in high-income taxpayers. He praised PM Modi’s efforts to strengthen the constitution and provide opportunities for SC/ST communities, including the extension of reservations and the abolition of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir.
