Former Chief Minister and MP Basavaraj Bommai announced that the candidate list for the upcoming by-elections in three constituencies, including Shiggaon, will be finalized after discussions in the Core Committee within the next few days. Bommai emphasized the importance of Shiggaon, his constituency, and expressed confidence in securing strong support.

The Core Committee has already deliberated on potential candidates, with feedback gathered from local visits. The list of aspirants will be reviewed by the state Core Committee and forwarded to the High Command for final approval. Bommai clarified that he has not proposed his son Bharath Bommai as a candidate, despite suggestions from others.

Regarding former minister Murugesh Nirani’s interest in contesting, Bommai stated that the High Command will decide. He also mentioned discussions with Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy about BJP MLC Yogeshwar’s candidacy for the Channapatna by-election.

Bommai raised concerns about alleged corruption in the Valmiki Development Corporation, questioning the government’s actions. He also commented on Marigowda’s resignation from the MUDA Chairman post, suggesting it indicates corruption despite the Chief Minister’s claims of no wrongdoing.
