Bar Council of India Urges Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal for Advocate Welfare and Security

Need for Insurance Scheme

The recent pandemic highlighted the vulnerabilities of advocates, showing the urgent need for a comprehensive health, medical, and life insurance scheme for them and their families. The Bar Council of India has been advocating for this for a long time, and the Ministry of Law has started collecting data to address this issue.

Advocates Protection and Compensation Bill/Act

Mishra also emphasized the need for the swift implementation of the Advocates Protection and Compensation Bill/Act. Advocates often face threats and harm while performing their duties, and this legislation would provide essential protections, allowing them to work fearlessly and with dignity.
