Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has embarked on a four-day official visit to China at the invitation of Chinese Premier Li Qiang. The visit aims to elevate the strategic partnership between Bangladesh and China to a comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.

During her visit, Hasina will meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang, and participate in a summit on trade, business, and investment opportunities. The two countries are expected to sign around 20 MoUs and announce new development projects.

Hasina’s visit follows her recent trip to India, where she held bilateral discussions with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and signed 10 MoUs, including one on the management and conservation of the Teesta River.

Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader described India as Bangladesh’s ‘political friend’ and China as its ‘development partner,’ highlighting China’s significant contributions to Bangladesh’s development.
