Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina Meets Indian Leaders in Delhi

Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina met Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar at the Vice-President’s Enclave in Delhi. They discussed their deep-rooted historical ties and various issues including economic and developmental partnerships.

Sheikh Hasina is on a state visit to India from June 21-22. She also met President Droupadi Murmu at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. They agreed to enhance relationships across all domains including economic ties, development partnership, defence cooperation, energy security, and connectivity.

Earlier, PM Modi and PM Hasina held a bilateral meeting focusing on deepening collaborative engagement across various sectors. Discussions covered politics, security, trade, connectivity, water-sharing, power and energy, and regional and multilateral cooperation.

This visit is the first state visit hosted by India after the formation of the new government on June 9, 2024.
