Bangladesh has announced their squad for the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024, dropping seasoned all-rounder Rumana Ahmed along with Rubya Haider, Shorifa Khatun, Sabikun Nahar, and Ishma Tanjim. Chief selector Sajjad Ahmed cited Rumana’s poor performance in the Asia Cup as the reason.
The squad includes uncapped batter Taj Nehar and young all-rounder Disha Biswas. Experienced legspinner Fahima Khatun, who was previously dropped, has also been included. Sobhana Mostary was picked despite her recent struggles due to a lack of options.
Bangladesh will start their campaign against Scotland on October 3 in the UAE.
