Baloch Yakjehti Committee Protests Enforced Disappearances in Balochistan
The Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) organized a peaceful protest rally in Kharan, Balochistan, to address the issue of enforced disappearances by the Pakistan armed forces. The rally took place at 3 pm, following the abduction of Ubaidullah Tagapi, son of Haji Barkat Tagapi, by armed forces. The family faced harassment and their protest was forcibly stopped by the authorities.

Another protest occurred in Panjgur, where 22-year-old Haseeb Baloch, a graduate from ARID University, was also taken by law enforcement during a peaceful demonstration. The state authorities used violence and abducted some protestors, raising human rights concerns.
The protests, under the banner “Breaking Silence: Standing Against Enforced Disappearances,” have been held in Karachi, Hub, Turbat, and Khuzdar. The BYC calls on the Baloch community to unite against the state’s actions, which violate freedom of speech and assembly.
