Baloch Yakjehti Committee Protests Against Enforced Disappearances in Balochistan

In Lasbela, Balochistan, the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) organized a peaceful protest in Hub Chowki against the enforced disappearances of Baloch youths. Despite police blockades, families of the missing youths gathered to demand justice and share their stories. The protest is part of a series titled “Breaking the Silence: Standing Against Enforced Disappearances.”

The BYC emphasized that the resistance remains strong and that the voices of the Baloch people and affected families cannot be silenced by roadblocks or violence. This protest follows a similar one in Karachi, where police used force and made arrests. Enforced disappearances in Balochistan are a significant human rights issue, with individuals being kidnapped by authorities or military forces.

The Baloch people demand rights and control over local resources, but their voices are often suppressed through violence, creating fear and uncertainty. Recently, three men were forcibly disappeared by Pakistan security forces in the Panjgur and Khuzdar districts. During a peaceful protest, Karachi Police arrested BYC’s Central Deputy Organizer, Lala Wahab Bloch, and four others.

The Baloch Yakjehti Committee is a political and social welfare organization that advocates for Baloch rights and unites nationalists in Balochistan. It addresses issues such as political rights, culture, and welfare for the Baloch community.
