Baloch Yakjehti Committee Prepares for National Gathering in Gwadar
The Balochistan Yakjehti Committee (BYC) is gearing up for a major event, the Baloch National Gathering, scheduled for July 28 in Gwadar. To raise awareness, the BYC Shaal Zone organized local corner meetings to educate the community about the event’s importance. Similarly, the BYC Gwadar Zone held meetings in various neighborhoods in Gwadar.
In Kech, the BYC Kech Zone took proactive steps by distributing pamphlets and conducting chalk campaigns across different areas. These efforts aim to ensure widespread understanding and encourage active participation in the upcoming gathering.
Baloch activist Mahrang Baloch, representing the BYC, made a passionate video statement about the event. She addressed several critical issues, emphasizing the committee’s strong opposition to the ongoing Baloch genocide by Pakistan. Mahrang highlighted various forms of genocide affecting the Baloch community, including fatalities from road accidents, illnesses due to neglect, and drug-related problems among Baloch youth.
She also pointed out the economic hardships faced by Baloch farmers, laborers, and fishermen, citing debt accumulation and land seizures for state projects. Mahrang condemned the exploitation of Baloch laborers and fishermen due to government policies.
Balochistan faces significant human rights issues, including enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings, and abuses by military and paramilitary forces. Journalists, bloggers, and activists advocating for Baloch rights face intimidation, harassment, and violence. Censorship and arbitrary arrests contribute to a climate of fear and repression in the region.
