Baloch Rights Group Condemns Pakistan’s Actions in Khuzdar

In Khuzdar, Pakistan, a Baloch rights organization has criticized the Pakistani government’s harsh response to an awareness campaign called ‘Baloch Raaji Muchi’ (Baloch National Gathering). Several Baloch individuals were detained, and raids by Pakistani defense forces resulted in severe injuries and property damage.

Details of the Incident

According to PAANK, Pakistani forces raided homes in Khuzdar, injuring men, women, and children. Three women were wounded by gunfire, six individuals were forcibly disappeared, and property was damaged and looted. In protest, locals blocked the Gresha to Bado Nala road, demanding an investigation and accountability for human rights violations.

Detentions and Outrage

The Frontier Corps (FC) detained several young Baloch women for distributing pamphlets for the Baloch National Gathering. Among those detained were Saira Baloch and Sadia Baloch. The Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) condemned the violence, stating that the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) raided homes, injuring six men and three women, and destroying property.

Calls for Action

Baloch rights activist Maharang Baloch condemned the brutality, noting that many people, including women, were injured, and several were forcibly disappeared. The state forces also took valuables and destroyed property. Residents and the Baloch Solidarity Committee have staged a sit-in protest, calling for human rights organizations to take notice and for the Baloch people to raise their voices against the oppression.
