Baloch Families Protest for Missing Loved Ones in Pakistan
In Quetta, Balochistan, families of five missing Baloch people have been protesting for three days, demanding their safe return. Activist Mahrang Baloch stated that the Counter Terrorist Department (CTD) is responsible for abducting these individuals. She shared on X, ‘Why do Baloch march? Because every day, security forces break into Baloch homes, beat and abduct innocent people.’ The families have blocked the CPEC road at Greshag.
The Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) shared a video of Saira Baloch, whose brothers have been missing for six years. She urged the Baloch community to unite and end the enforced disappearances. The families of the disappeared individuals began a hunger strike on July 19 in Turbat, expressing their dissatisfaction with the Pakistani government’s handling of the issue. The BYC has called for a national gathering in Gwadar on July 28 to protest these forced disappearances.
