Baloch Community in Germany Protests Against Pakistani Atrocities in Balochistan
The Baloch community living in Germany organized a protest in Hannover to speak out against the violence by Pakistani security forces in Balochistan. Many people from the community joined the demonstration, carrying placards that condemned the recent crackdown on the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) and the extreme state violence against peaceful Baloch protesters.
The protest started at a central point in Hannover and continued as a long march through the main streets, ending at Arnst August Platz. Here, speakers addressed the crowd. Abdul Wajid Baloch, one of the protesters, said, “Pakistani forces opened fire on protesters during the Baloch National Gathering on July 28, organized by the Baloch Yakjehti Committee in Gwadar. The situation in Balochistan is extremely tense and dangerous, with the region under complete siege.”
He added that thousands of military personnel brutally attacked the Baloch National Gathering, creating a war-like scenario between unarmed Baloch people and the powerful Pakistani military. The Baloch Yakjehti Committee has called for widespread resistance.
Other speakers also talked about the ongoing state brutality, the Baloch genocide, and the issue of missing persons in Balochistan. They aimed to draw the attention of global powers to these issues and stated that the diaspora would always stand in solidarity with the Baloch people against Pakistani oppression.
In Gwadar, families of missing Baloch persons were gathering under the banner of Baloch Raji Machi. However, Pakistan did not allow this gathering, setting up roadblocks throughout Balochistan to prevent people from joining and violently suppressing the peaceful protesters. Many young Baloch were killed and injured due to direct firing by the state. Protests against this brutality have continued across Balochistan.
