Baloch Activist Mahrang Baloch’s Struggle for Justice in Sindh
On October 14, Baloch activist Mahrang Baloch filed a petition in the Sindh High Court. She claimed her passport and mobile phone were stolen while returning from Karachi Airport. The court has directed local police to recover the items by October 21. Additionally, a false FIR against her was suspended by the court.
Earlier, on October 7, Mahrang was stopped from traveling to the United States to attend Time Magazine’s gala. Despite having a valid U.S. visa, she was detained by Pakistan’s Federal Investigation Agency at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport. Time Magazine highlighted this incident, noting the struggles faced by Baloch citizens, including abductions and extrajudicial killings.
