Bajrang Dal Protests in Ahmedabad Over Rahul Gandhi’s Remarks on Hinduism

In Ahmedabad, Gujarat, members of the Bajrang Dal staged a protest against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday. The protest was in response to Gandhi’s alleged ‘anti-Hindu’ remarks made in Parliament.

During the demonstration, Bajrang Dal members raised slogans against Rahul Gandhi and attempted to burn his effigy. The police intervened, detaining several protesters. Joint Commissioner of Police, Neeraj Badgujar, stated that the necessary police force had been deployed to maintain peace in the area.

Last week, Rahul Gandhi, in his speech in the Lok Sabha, accused the BJP and RSS of spreading violence and hatred. He connected the Hindu symbol ‘Abhayamudra’ with the Congress party symbol, which led to protests from BJP members. Prime Minister Narendra Modi criticized Gandhi’s remarks, calling them a serious matter. In response, Gandhi clarified that BJP does not represent the entire Hindu society.

Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi arrived in Ahmedabad to meet his party members and the families of victims of the Rajkot Gaming Zone tragedy, where 28 people were killed in a fire incident on June 25. Congress spokesperson Hemang Raval mentioned that the Congress office in Ahmedabad was vandalized by members associated with BJP, Bajrang Dal, and Vishwa Hindu Parishad in protest against Gandhi’s comments.
