Badrinath National Highway Reopened After Landslide in Chamoli, Uttarakhand

The Badrinath National Highway in Chamoli, Uttarakhand, was blocked due to heavy debris falling from the hill near Bhanerpani, Joshimath. After hours of effort, the road was reopened for traffic on Thursday.

Uttarakhand Police announced, “The blocked Badrinath National Highway near Bhanerpani in Chamoli has opened for traffic.”

Earlier, on Wednesday, a landslide near the Patal Ganga Langsi tunnel had blocked the highway. Heavy rains in Uttarakhand caused multiple landslides, blocking the highway at several points.

On July 5, debris near Angthala in the Kotwali Chamoli area also blocked the highway. The incident was reported at 6:54 am, and local authorities and police cleared the debris, resuming traffic after three hours.
