Baby Born in Ambulance After Hospital Refuses Admission in Mainpuri, Uttar Pradesh

A baby was born in an ambulance on Saturday in Mainpuri, Uttar Pradesh, after the mother was refused admission at Sausaiya Matra Shishu Chikitshalaya. The hospital cited the absence of an anaesthesiologist as the reason for the refusal.

The father of the baby explained that the hospital initially said a normal delivery was not possible due to complications and required surgery. However, they could not proceed because the anaesthesiologist was not available, and the mother was referred to another hospital. On the way, she delivered the baby inside the ambulance.

Following the incident, a two-member investigating committee was formed to look into the matter. Chief Medical Officer Dr. RC Gupta stated, “A complaint was registered by the concerned person, and for this, I have made a two-member investigating committee. In one week they will submit the report, and further investigation will take place following that report.”
