Babulal Marandi, the president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Jharkhand and candidate for the Dhanwar constituency, has accused the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) of exploiting the state’s resources over the past five years. He claims that the JMM has looted sand, coal, and land belonging to both Adivasis and the army. Marandi expressed confidence that the BJP will form the next government in Jharkhand, highlighting the corruption and extortion in government offices under the current administration.

Marandi emphasized that the people of Jharkhand are eager to vote for change in the upcoming elections. He criticized the JMM government for its alleged looting and corruption, stating that the people will not vote for corrupt leaders again. The BJP has announced its first list of 66 candidates for the Jharkhand elections, with plans to contest in alliance with the All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU), Janata Dal (United) (JD-U), and Lok Janshakti Party (LJP).

The BJP will field candidates in 68 seats, AJSU in 10 seats, JD-U in two seats, and LJP in one seat. Meanwhile, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren announced that the INDIA bloc, including JMM and Congress, will contest 70 of the 81 seats in the assembly elections. The remaining seats will be contested by other parties in the INDIA alliance, with discussions involving the RJD and Left parties. Elections for all 81 seats in the Jharkhand assembly will be held in two phases on November 13 and November 20.
