Baba Kalyani and Amity University Join Forces for Indian Defence Dialogue

Noida (Uttar Pradesh) [India], June 10: Amity University Uttar Pradesh, in collaboration with Bharat Forge Limited, Pune, organized the ‘Bhartiya Raksha Vimarsha’ (Indian Defence Dialogue) focusing on ‘Defence Technology & Integrated Joint Warfighting Perspective’.

During the event, an MoU was signed between Bharat Forge Ltd. and Amity University to strengthen the industry-academia partnership in the defence sector.

Key Highlights

Baba Kalyani, Chairman and Managing Director of Bharat Forge Ltd., was the Chief Guest. He praised Amity University for its academic excellence and research initiatives. He emphasized the importance of self-reliance in defence technology and the potential of India’s young population to drive technological advancements.

BK Das, Director General (ECS) of DRDO, highlighted India’s rapid development and the importance of exports for economic growth. He described the collaborative efforts needed for national development using the acronym INDIA.

Atul Chauhan, Chancellor of Amity University, expressed gratitude to Baba Kalyani and emphasized the strategic importance of the defence industry in India. He highlighted Amity University’s pioneering role in defence technology education.

Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor of Amity University, stressed the importance of industry-academia collaboration and the commitment to the vision of a developed India.

W Selvamurthy, President of Amity Science Technology and Innovation Foundation, spoke about the significance of research and innovation in the defence sector.

Lt Gen SK Gadeock, Director General of Amity Institute of Defence and Strategic Studies, welcomed the guests and emphasized the importance of strategic awareness among students.

Sessions and Discussions

The event featured sessions on topics such as ‘The Transforming Landscape of Warfare’ and ‘The Technological Revolution: Analyzing the Effects on Military Operations’. Defence experts including Air Marshal Anil Chopra, Major General BK Sharma, Lt Gen Sunil Srivastava, Lt Gen Dushyant Singh, and Swasti Rao shared their insights.

The event was attended by faculty, students, PhD scholars, dignitaries, senior veterans from the Armed Forces, and other eminent citizens from the NCR.
