In Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, preparations are underway for the grand Deepotsav event. Divisional Commissioner Gaurav Dayal announced that 25 lakh diyas will be lit along the Sarayu River, aiming for a new Guinness World Record. This year’s event will feature aarti by 1100 people, a drone show, and new cultural programs starting October 28. The main event is on October 30, with rehearsals on October 29.

Event Highlights

The Deepotsav will be organized by the tourism, cultural, and information departments. A special Ramlila performance will take place at Ram Katha Park. This year, 55 ghats will be illuminated, compared to 51 last year. A viewing gallery at Ram Ki Paidi will accommodate 10,000 attendees.

Volunteers and Preparations

SS Mishra, Deepotsav’s Nodal Officer, stated that over 32,000 volunteers from Awadh University will help set a new world record. The event is significant as it marks the first Deepotsav since the consecration of Balak Ram in the temple. The state government aims to make this celebration historic.
