Australian, Israeli, Ukrainian, and Indian Embassies Celebrate 10th International Day of Yoga

On June 21, the 10th International Day of Yoga was celebrated globally. Australian High Commissioner to India, Philip Green, shared that over 10 lakh Australians practice yoga. He posted videos of yoga enthusiasts from the Australian High Commission performing asanas in New Delhi.

Tom from the Australian High Commission expressed his joy in practicing yoga in India. Diplomats Isabelle and Jess mentioned their favorite pose, ustrasana, and emphasized the theme ‘Yoga for Self and Society.’ Kate highlighted yoga’s benefits for mind, body, and community, sharing her favorite asana, shirshasana.

The Israeli embassy in India posted a humorous video of their diplomats explaining why they love yoga. One diplomat joked about yoga being the only time he can lay down and call it exercise, while another mentioned doing yoga for social media likes.

The Ukrainian embassy also celebrated, sharing a video of their team practicing yoga for 1.5 months with their teacher, Vineet Panday Jee. They expressed gratitude for yoga’s physical and mental health benefits.

The Indian embassy in Oman marked the day with a yoga session on INS Tarkash at Salalah port, involving the Indian community and ship’s crew. This year’s theme, ‘Yoga for Self and Society,’ highlights yoga’s importance in fostering individual well-being and societal harmony.
