New Delhi, India, August 18: Atul Bhatt, Chairman and Managing Director of Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), expressed his gratitude to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for his crucial role in extending the lease of RINL’s Garbham Manganese Mine. This extension is a significant milestone for RINL, ensuring a steady supply of manganese ore for its production needs.

The Garbham Manganese Mine covers an area of 654 acres, with RINL consuming about 6000 tons of manganese ore annually. The lease extension is vital for the company’s ongoing production activities, especially in operating blast furnaces to produce hot metal.

Bhatt also extended his heartfelt thanks to Palla Srinivasa Rao, MLA of Gazuwaka, Visakhapatnam, and President of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), Andhra Pradesh, as well as M Sri Bharat, Member of Parliament, Visakhapatnam, for their relentless efforts in securing the lease extension. Their advocacy played a pivotal role in this important decision, benefiting RINL and contributing to India’s industrial growth.

The Ministry of Steel emphasized that the lease extension was achieved through collaborative efforts between the government and RINL, highlighting the importance of strong partnerships between industry and the state government in fostering economic progress.

Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited, the corporate entity of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, is a Navaratna Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Steel. Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, also known as Vizag Steel, is the first shore-based integrated plant in India, renowned for its quality products.
