New Delhi, September 18: Union Minister Kiren Rijiju reacted to the AAP’s decision to appoint Atishi as the new Chief Minister of Delhi. Rijiju stated that the public is troubled by the AAP government and desires to oust them from power. He criticized Atishi’s family background and accused AAP of ruining Delhi and Punjab.

BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj congratulated Atishi but lamented Delhi’s misfortune under AAP’s rule. She emphasized the need for a ‘double-engine’ government for Delhi’s development.

BJP MP Ramvir Singh Bidhuri also congratulated Atishi and expressed hope that she would address Delhi’s issues like broken roads and poor public transport.

BJP leader Shehzad Poonawalla criticized the AAP government, calling Atishi a ‘dummy CM’ and questioning her family’s past actions.

Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal alleged that Atishi’s parents had written mercy petitions for Afzal Guru, calling her a ‘Dummy CM’ and sharing a purported letter as evidence.

After being elected as the new Chief Minister, Atishi thanked Arvind Kejriwal for his trust and responsibility. She expressed sadness over Kejriwal’s resignation but vowed to continue his work.

Arvind Kejriwal met Lt Governor VK Saxena and resigned as the Chief Minister. Atishi, chosen by AAP legislators, met LG Saxena to stake her claim to the post. She stated that the people of Delhi want Kejriwal as their CM and vowed to make him win in the next elections.

Delhi minister Gopal Rai said Atishi has been given responsibility in testing times and accused agencies of being misused against AAP. He emphasized Atishi’s role in working for Delhi’s people and stopping BJP’s conspiracies.

Kejriwal’s resignation, following his bail in the liquor policy case, shocked Delhi’s political circles.
