New Delhi, India – CPI leader D Raja congratulated Atishi for becoming the new Chief Minister of Delhi on Tuesday. Arvind Kejriwal announced his resignation as Chief Minister, and Atishi was chosen as his successor by the AAP Legislative Party.

Other leaders, including CPI(M) Politburo member Subhashini Ali, also extended their greetings to Atishi, expressing hope that she would fulfill her promises to the people of Delhi.

Delhi LG VK Saxena confirmed that Kejriwal would meet him at 4:30 pm to tender his resignation, and Atishi is expected to take the oath soon after.

Kejriwal’s resignation comes after his release from Tihar jail on bail in a corruption case related to the Delhi Excise Policy scam. The Supreme Court imposed conditions on his release, including refraining from public comments about the case and attending all court hearings.
