Atif Khan Criticizes Lack of Transparency in Pakistan’s Constitutional Amendment Bill

Atif Khan, leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has raised concerns over the lack of transparency surrounding the constitutional amendment bill. Speaking on the ARY News program ‘Off the Record’, Khan stated that even government officials are unaware of the bill’s contents.

“If the government was serious, they would have presented the bill publicly, but even the members of government seemed clueless related to amendments,” Khan said. He expressed his disappointment, pointing out that some members of the National Assembly (NA) were either sleeping or disengaged during parliamentary sessions.

Khan questioned why the law minister hadn’t presented the draft for discussion in Parliament and criticized the government for not sharing the measure with its allies. He argued that the government should have at least informed its coalition partners about the bill’s contents.
