On Wednesday, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced that Ather Energy, a leading electric scooter manufacturer, will establish its third manufacturing facility in Maharashtra. This new plant will be located in Aurangabad Industrial City (AURIC).

Fadnavis shared the news after meeting with Swapnil Jain, the founder of Ather Energy. He expressed his excitement about Ather’s decision to choose Maharashtra for their new state-of-the-art plant.

Fadnavis emphasized that the selection of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (Aurangabad) for this investment highlights the region’s potential to lead Maharashtra’s growth story. The area is well-connected via the Samruddhi Expressway, making it an attractive location for investors.

The new facility is expected to significantly impact the economy by boosting Maharashtra’s leadership in the electric mobility revolution and creating many job opportunities. Once operational, the plant will have the capacity to produce up to 1 million units of vehicles and battery packs annually, contributing to India’s sustainable mobility solutions.
