Assam Rifles Seize 2,60,000 Yaba Tablets in Tripura Anti-Drug Operation
On September 26, Assam Rifles made a significant impact in the fight against drugs by seizing 2,60,000 Yaba tablets in Khayerpur, Tripura. The operation also led to the confiscation of a vehicle.
The seized drugs, valued at Rs 52 crore in the international market, were handed over to the Customs Department DPF Unit in Agartala for further action. Major Poorva of Assam Rifles stated, “Acting on specific intelligence, Assam Rifles conducted a well-executed operation that led to the recovery of a huge amount of Yaba tablets.”
This successful operation supports the ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat’ initiative by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the anti-drug campaign led by Tripura’s Chief Minister Manik Saha. Major Poorva added, “It is an addition to a series of consecutive successful operations by Assam Rifles, highlighting the force’s unwavering commitment in the fight against drug trafficking and illegal smuggling activities in the region.”
