On a mission to promote a drug-free society, Assam Rifles organized an awareness event in Udaipur, Tripura, as part of the ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan’. The event aimed to educate locals, especially the youth, about the harmful effects of drug abuse and the benefits of a drug-free life.

The event featured an interactive lecture session discussing the negative impacts of drug addiction, its social and financial consequences, and available support systems for rehabilitation. A total of 157 people attended the event, engaging in discussions and sharing personal experiences.

Participants pledged their support for the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, and the initiative was well-received by the local community and administration. This event is part of Assam Rifles’ ongoing efforts to combat drug addiction and aligns with their vision for a drug-free India.

Role of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment

The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment is responsible for reducing drug demand, coordinating prevention efforts, and overseeing treatment and rehabilitation. The Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, launched on August 15, 2020, involves over 500 voluntary organizations supported by the National Action Plan for Drug Demand Reduction.
