Assam Rifles Launches Operation Saviour to Rescue Civilians in Flood-Hit Arunachal Pradesh

Amid severe flooding in Arunachal Pradesh, the Assam Rifles has launched Operation Saviour to rescue civilians stranded in various villages. Nearly 500 people have been rescued from areas including Vijoypur, Dharampur, Mudoi, Shrishtipur, Hanthi Mara Beel, and Chowkham.

According to a press release from Pro Defence Guwahati, the Assam Rifles have set up temporary camps and are working closely with the civil administration to provide emergency rations, food, and medicine. Additional personnel and resources are being committed to speed up rescue efforts.

IMD scientist Dr. Naresh Kumar has forecasted extremely heavy rainfall in Arunachal Pradesh for the next two days, with red alerts issued for several northeastern states.
