Assam Rifles Celebrates Kohima Orphanage Foundation Day

Guwahati (Assam) [India], September 29: Assam Rifles celebrated the Foundation Day of the Kohima Orphanage and Destitute Home with great enthusiasm. Maj Gen Manish Kumar attended the event and praised the orphanage’s efforts for underprivileged children.

During the celebration, Assam Rifles distributed books, clothing, monetary aid, and essential items like food supplies to the children, promoting education and well-being. Maj Gen Manish Kumar emphasized the importance of community support in providing a nurturing environment for these children.

Earlier, Assam Rifles, in collaboration with Community Health Centre Bhandari, conducted a medical camp in Ruchan, Bhandari, offering health checkups, dental assessments, laboratory services, homeopathy, and Ayushman registration. Around 150 patients benefited from this initiative.

Additionally, Assam Rifles and Kohima Municipal Corporation conducted a cleanliness drive under the Swachhata Hi Seva campaign in the D Block area and Government Primary School, Kohima. Local leaders, residents, and Assam Rifles personnel actively participated.

Assam Rifles remains dedicated to ensuring regional security and participating in humanitarian and community-building activities.
