Assam Rifles Celebrate 10th International Day of Yoga in Meghalaya

The Assam Rifles celebrated the 10th International Day of Yoga with a grand event at their headquarters in Laitkor, Meghalaya. This celebration is part of a broader initiative by the Assam Rifles to integrate yoga into daily life, which started on June 1, 2024.

The campaign has reached various locations, including IGARs, Sector Headquarters, unit locations, schools, colleges, and community centers throughout the North East. Enthusiastic participation was seen from personnel, family members, and children.

In Unakoti, Tripura, the celebration was complemented by the ancient rock carvings, highlighting the connection between cultural heritage and health. Assam Rifles also conducted mass yoga demonstrations across the Northeast, emphasizing physical fitness, mental well-being, and spiritual harmony.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the celebrations of the 10th International Day of Yoga at the Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Centre in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir. Since 2015, the Prime Minister has led the International Day of Yoga celebrations at various iconic locations, including Kartavya Path in Delhi, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Ranchi, Lucknow, Mysuru, and even the United Nations Headquarters in New York.
