The Assam Rifles arrested three individuals and seized heroin worth over Rs 7 crore near the Nuiland-Dimapur road in Nagaland. This operation took place on July 10, 2024, after receiving specific intelligence about drug movement in the area.

Details of the Operation

Acting on the intelligence, the Assam Rifles set up a Mobile Vehicle Check Post (MVCP) near the fourth mile on the Nuiland-Dimapur road. They intercepted a vehicle and conducted a thorough search.

Seizure and Arrest

During the search, they found 1,134 grams of suspected heroin hidden in 81 plastic soap cases. The estimated value of the heroin is approximately Rs 7,93,80,000. Three individuals were arrested at the scene for their involvement in the smuggling activities.

The recovered contraband, along with arms, ammunition, magazines, and other stores, were handed over to the Nagaland Police for further investigation.
