In Aizawl, Mizoram, the Assam Rifles, along with the Mizoram Special Narcotics CID, conducted a successful operation on January 10. They arrested three individuals and seized heroin worth Rs 9.51 lakh. The arrested individuals are Ngurthanzami, Bikash Gharti, and Lalramthara. The heroin was found in transparent white polythene bags. The suspects and the drugs were handed over to the Special Narcotics CID for further action.
On the same day, Assam Rifles, in collaboration with the Police and Tripura Forest Service, destroyed a large ganja plantation in the Boxanagar Forest Range, Mizoram. The operation eradicated 16,500 cannabis plants valued at Rs 70 lakh.
