Assam Rifles and Manipur Police Recover Weapons in Thoubal, Manipur
On August 22, 2024, Assam Rifles and Manipur Police conducted a joint operation in Tekcham Maning Ching, Thoubal District, Manipur. They recovered various arms and ammunition, including:
- One 9mm Carbine
- One Bolt action rifle
- Two 9mm pistols
- One M 20 pistol
- 11 grenades
- Mortar ammunition
The recovered items were handed over to Manipur Police for further investigation and disposal.
Earlier, on August 7, a joint operation by the Indian Army and Assam Rifles in Kakching District led to the recovery of:
- One AK Rifle
- One 12 bore Single Barrel Rifle
- Two 9mm Pistols
- 11 grenades
- Ammunition and other war-like stores
These items were also handed over to Manipur Police. Additionally, an intensive search operation in Uyungmakhong, Bishnupur District, resulted in the seizure of:
- Two AK-47 rifles
- One Sniper rifle
- One 9mm Pistol
- Three Grenades
- Other war-like stores
