Assam Rifles and Indian Army Recover Weapons in Manipur

In Kakching, Manipur, the Assam Rifles, along with the Indian Army, Border Security Force (BSF), and Manipur Police, recovered a significant cache of arms and ammunition in the Sekmajin area. The recovery included one Sten Machine Gun, two 9mm Pistols, two single barrel guns, ten grenades, and other war-like stores.

Earlier, on August 22, a joint operation by Assam Rifles and Manipur Police in Tekcham Maning Ching, Thoubal District, led to the recovery of one 9mm Carbine, one Bolt action rifle, two 9mm pistols, one M20 pistol, 11 grenades, and mortar ammunition.

On August 19, the Indian Army, BSF, and Manipur Police conducted a raid in S Nabil, Churachandpur district, uncovering two miniature rockets, mortar ammunition, and other war-like stores.

Additionally, on August 7, Assam Rifles and the Indian Army recovered a large cache of arms and ammunition from Kakching district.

Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh emphasized the government’s efforts to restore peace in the state, stating, “Peace lies on us. There will not be a specific roadmap because it is a conflict, not an accident. We are making every kind of effort. Peace has been restored in Jiribam. Similarly, we are trying to do this in district by district and trying to meet people in person.”
