Assam Rifles and Excise Department Seize Heroin in Mizoram

In Lunglei, Mizoram, a significant anti-narcotics operation was conducted by Assam Rifles in collaboration with the Excise and Narcotics department. They successfully recovered heroin valued at approximately Rs 15.94 lakh, weighing around 22.78 grams. A woman suspected of drug peddling was apprehended during the operation on October 31, 2024. The woman had been under surveillance for several days. The seized heroin, known as Heroin No. 4, and the woman are now in the custody of the Excise and Narcotics Department in Lunglei for further investigation.

Earlier in October, Assam Rifles, along with Mizoram Police, conducted another operation where they recovered 39,900 detonators from the Indo-Myanmar border.
