The Assam Police recently sent back several Bangladeshi nationals who attempted to cross the Karimganj border. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma praised the police’s efforts on social media.

Incidents on September 19

On September 19, four individuals were identified near the Karimganj border and sent back to Bangladesh. The individuals were Romida Begum, Abdul Elahi, Marijna Begum, and Abdul Sukkur.

Incidents on September 17

On September 17, five more Bangladeshi nationals were apprehended in South Salmara Mankachar district. The individuals were Akash Ali, Safikul Mandal, Sabina Akter, Pinki Akter, Santa, and the auto driver Akhirul Islam. They revealed that they crossed from Sherpur with the help of an Indian national named Pappan.

Earlier Incidents

Earlier, on September 12, Assam police identified and sent back three Bangladeshi nationals. On September 11, one individual named Toyu Shaikh was intercepted and returned to Bangladesh at 01:45 am.
