Assam Police Seize Heroin Worth Rs 5 Crore and Illegal Arms in Separate Operations

The Assam Police made significant seizures in two separate operations. In Cachar district, they intercepted an autorickshaw at Chalchapra, NH 37, and found 47 soap cases of heroin weighing about 974 grams. The heroin, valued at Rs 5 crore, was in the possession of Sirukuddin Laskar, who was arrested.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma praised the operation on ‘X’, highlighting the successful recovery of the heroin.

In another operation earlier this week, the police in Udalguri district recovered illegal arms and ammunition. The police team seized an AK56 rifle, a magazine, and 668 rounds of live ammunition from a house in Santipur village. Two individuals were arrested in connection with this recovery.
