On July 27, Assam police conducted a search operation in the Katakhal area of Cachar district, leading to the seizure of 30,000 Yaba tablets worth Rs 9 crore. The operation was based on specific information about the transportation of narcotic substances.

Arrest and Seizure

The police arrested Abdul Alim, a 42-year-old resident of Saptagram village under Dholai police station. A scooty used for the illegal transportation was also seized. Numal Mahatta, Superintendent of Police of Cachar District, confirmed the details.

Further Investigation

The consignment was being transported illegally from Aizawl, and further investigation is underway.

Earlier Drug Seizure by NCB

On July 23, the NCB Guwahati Zonal Unit seized 6.790 kg of Methamphetamine and arrested two individuals, Gouzalal Singson and Thangminlun Lhungdim, involved in trafficking from Manipur to Meghalaya.
