The Special Task Force (STF) of Assam Police made a significant breakthrough in the fight against drug trafficking in Guwahati. On a Thursday night, the STF conducted a raid near the Chandmari flyover, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Chandmari police station.

Details of the Operation

Inspector General of Police (STF), Partha Sarathi Mahanta, shared that the operation was based on a specific input. During the raid, the STF team apprehended two individuals, Sandeep Singh, aged 34, and Manoj Deka, aged 37. They were found with a scooty and 10 soap boxes containing heroin.

Seizure and Arrest

The seized heroin weighed 691 grams and is valued at approximately Rs 5.5 crore in the market. Along with the drugs, two mobile phones were also confiscated from the suspects. The necessary legal formalities have been completed following the arrest.
